While I love exploring new places and cities, especially restaurants and bars that can’t be found anywhere else, it breaks my heart to leave my dogs at home! In the past, my furry sidekicks and I have lived in places where few establishments welcomed four-legged visitors.  Luckily, Hefner, Charlie, and I recently moved to Savannah, Georgia, one of the most dog-friendly cities out there!

In a time when a growing number of households are choosing furry children over the human kind, I believe it is important to discover how and where dogs can be integrated into our daily lives. At Guzzles and Muzzles, Hefner, Charlie, and I will investigate the dog-friendly dining and drinking social scene in Savannah, Georgia. As we traverse the city and sample the signature food and drink at fur-friendly restaurants and bars, we will discuss both the culinary experiences and the canine exploits. We might even meet some new friends.

This blog project is a way for the dogs and I to get to know our new city, as well as letting readers (both Savannah locals and future Savannah visitors) know about the unique, dog-friendly dining and drinking adventures in Savannah. While not all of our culinary adventures will be child-friendly, they will certainly be dog- and food/drink-centric. Our posts will scout bars and restaurants that can only be found in Savannah, and the stories will also discuss the atmosphere for both human and canines. Our hope is that the information shared on this page will encourage others to bring their dogs out of the crate and into the city!
